Shattering Chronic Pain
Stop feeling shattered by Chronic Pain get pain relief with hypnosis.

Everyone knows someone in pain. Maybe it is a family member. Or it could be yourself. Worse, there are so many causes that finding a single effective treatment can be difficult, if not impossible. It may be a medical condition or a chronic injury. Pain can even result from  psychological problems like anxiety.  Regardless of your reasons, it often takes a variety of various approaches to managing the symptoms.

What Is Chronic Pain?

Medical practitioners classify pain in two ways: acute and chronic.  Acute pain is any pain which is short term or temporary. Acute pains are generally considered to last no longer than 3-6 months. Chronic pain, on the other hand, is described as any pain lasting longer than that or any pain that has become a permanent fixture in your life.

Some known conditions that cause chronic pain include:

Not knowing the cause does not make the pain any less real. It just makes it harder to treat and manage.  If you are experiencing pain, you are always advised to see a doctor first. They will be able to investigate the problem and determine how to best treat it.

Pain Relief and Management

Chronic pain can be debilitating, making it hard to find pain relief.  If you experience pain on a regular basis, you are most likely already on medication and possibly a few other alternative therapies.  It is important to participate in pain management as doing nothing can make your symptoms worse.

Pain management is incredibly important.  Without it, it is easy to let the symptoms of your chronic pain become issues within other spectrums of your life. It is also important to listen to your body.  Pain is a signal a sign to tell you something important.

Pain can affect you in many ways from sleeping patterns to the things you embrace and avoid. Inactivity and overexertion can increase it. Inactivity causes your body to stiffen up, which can result in a loss of strength or worse. Unfortunately, some of the things we love may begin to cause us pain.  We should never give up doing all the things we love to do. That defeats the point of living our lives to the fullest.

With chronic pain, however, you have to find a balance that works for you. Do the activities you enjoy, just be sure to be mindful of what things activate or relieve your pain.  You might find something that helps you in your own daily activities as well, such as walking, yoga,  and swimming. Your doctor may also prescribe some form of physical therapy.

Pain And Hypnosis

As with many medical practices our modern day world tends to look at physical observable symptoms. Often we forget that the mental and emotional exist.  We forget about the link between the body and the mind.  A link that can both help or harm our pan relief efforts.

Research has found that stress and anxiety are common in those with chronic pain.  There is even an indication that these sensations can worsen the feelings of pain. Therefore, reducing stress and changing negative thought patterns, can make an immense difference in pain relief.  The difference between a pain well managed and one that is tearing your life apart.

This distinction about our mind/body connection is a good deal of what makes Hypnosis an ideal tool. Used along with other pain relief therapies, hypnosis has proven benefits. We don’t convince you that the pain doesn’t exist. That would be counterproductive since, as stated before, pain serves the purpose of letting us know that something is wrong within our bodies.

Pain can also be a cycle however. A habitual overreaction of the nervous system.  Feelings and other symptoms can begin a negative feedback loop where the body just continually ramps up the pain, attempting to get your attention.  Hypnosis can be beneficial in dismantling any habits or negative thought patterns affecting your pain levels. The goal is to change these thought patterns to more positive ones, so that your mental perception of the pain isn’t increasing the physical sensations.

Putting It All Together

Chronic pain and its relief is a very diverse and complicated issue.  It is one that requires time and patience to overcome.  It takes support and a variety of methods to treat.   Chronic pain may never have a quick solution, but its management can mean the world to your quality of life.
